Granny Aupair

Based in Hamburg, Granpreneur Michaela Hansen is the founder of Granny Aupair, which sends women aged 50+ abroad as au pairs, house sitters and companions. Granny Aupair enables women to travel and the families they stay with get really experienced childcare. The Grannies play, paint, bake or sing with the children. They provide love and comfort and are there for the children when their parents are busy.

So far we have had a very good experience with Granny Aupair. We already had two Grannies, one for three months, the next even for nine months and our third one is coming soon. I cannot imagine a better alternative for my daughter. The difference between Grannies and young au pairs, who are partly like having another child, is like night and day. Of course you have to be flexible, but so far we are totally thrilled by the concept. (Family Esteban in Madrid)
