Set in the heart of Europe, Frankfurt has always been a very international city, with a vibrant, cosmopolitan dynamic and an enviable quality of life. Often referred to as the financial hub of Europe, Frankfurt and the Rhein-Main area have much to offer entrepreneurs and small businesses. Frankfurt has a burgeoning start-up scene, with a vast and fast-growing network of inspiring women in business in the city and beyond, working across many sectors. With such diverse and talented local and international communities, Frankfurt offers the ideal setting for women entrepreneurs in the region who feel empowered to create their own businesses.

 

Online magazine Hallo Frankfurt is a useful platform providing up to date local information,  keeping track of almost 100 meetups in Frankfurt and the Rhein-Main area, in both German and English.

 

There are also a number of non-profit organisations in place to support women in business in Frankfurt, including Berami, located in Bornheim, offering mentoring and career advice (in German) for expat and migrant women in Frankfurt. Jumpp is another helpful organisation for female entrepreneurs in Frankfurt offering assistance (in German) with all aspects of entrepreneurship, including the bureaucracy of setting up a business, applying for start-up grants from the Federal Employment Agency and supportive advice.

 

Working Moms is a non-profit organisation for working mothers across Germany, promoting women in business in Frankfurt and a better balance between family time and work. With around 500 active members (all ambitious working mothers), the group organise monthly meetings, in German. Founded in 2007 in Frankfurt, other clubs are now active in Berlin, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Munich, the Rhine-Neckar region and Stuttgart.

 

Women In Business Frankfurt host workshops to inspire and support women balancing family with their career through turning their passion into a profitable business. With free workshops and great events for sharing ideas and seeking opportunities for freelancers and women owned businesses in Frankfurt. #girlBOSS Frankfurt is a group for women entrepreneurs and mums who work from home, offering advice and support in navigating, starting, running, and growing a small business. Part of the international #girlBOSS network, the group is an ideal place to share online and home based business ideas for mums, spend time with like-minded women and support other busy mums in Frankfurt. The Founders Table is an event designed to broaden the network and strengthen links in the local Frankfurt startup scene. All entrepreneurs, women and men are welcome.

Co-Work & Play is the city’s first coworking space providing child care, in Frankfurt am Main. Freelancers and start-ups can work, develop and implement ideas in a stylish, design led environment while their little ones are looked after close by. Originally founded in Berlin, The Social Impact Lab is an exciting co-working space, business accelerator and community for (primarily social) entrepreneurs with an international background.
