Umbria is Italy’s smallest Italian region, dubbed the country’s “green heart” and known for its Etruscan architecture, picturesque hills and valleys. The region is also home to a growing start-up scene, with a vast and fast-growing network of inspiring women in business in Perugia, the region’s capital and beyond, working across many industries. With an increasingly international community, Umbria offers the ideal setting for local and expat women entrepreneurs in the region who feel empowered to go it alone and set-up their own businesses.
Umbria Business Group is an association dedicated to promoting and sharing entrepreneurial and professional knowledge to benefit the region’s business and startup sectors. They organise a plethora of events and talks with entrepreneurs and professionals from various disciplines, ideal for growing women owned businesses in the area.
Hub Umbria – Agro & Food Innovation Lab is an innovative space for startups and companies already operating within the Agro and food market. Part coworking space, part accelerator, the space provides all the necessary support to develop successful projects further and build networks within startups.
International Journalism Festival (IJF) is the biggest annual independent media event in Europe, taking place every April in Perugia’s historic town centre. A large international team puts together and runs the 5-day festival each year and entry is free for all attendees.
