Académie Américaine de Danse de Paris

February 5, 2018 | Activities, France, Paris

L’Académie Franco-Américaine de Danse de Paris (AFA Danse) was founded in 1997. The school welcomes children, adolescents and adults wishing to learn classical dance. Mixing French and American dance techniques, the school encourages each individual to explore dance techniques in their own way.  This approach fosters freedom of movement and brings confidence to students.

Director Alexia Lusinchi-Pau is a professional dancer. She gained her French National Diploma in ballet at the Centre National de la Danse, and she is the AFA Danse director mainly in charge of the school pedagogy and the artistic approach.

The school offers:

Kids ballet: the school welcomes students from 4 years old and works from introductory awakening programmes through progressive stages up to adult level, including pointe work on the way.

Adult ballet

Adult barre au sol

Adult yoga

Adult vitale flow: based on low-impact stretching movements, and inspired by warm-ups for dancers, this technique adapts to everyone. You will have the keys to building a toned, sheathed body, a body you can count on. The work is done both in depth, gently, and in a good mood, to sustainably support your efforts and your progress.

The school offers a variety of workshops and classes. We have been to see several performances by the AADP and the dancers are truly beautiful. (Sandy Fitzroy)
