Dr. Catherine DeFuria brings to the Milan community a wealth of experience and specialized knowledge in dentistry. As a prosthodontist, she focuses on cosmetic, reconstructive, and restorative dental care. In 2012, she earned her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (D.M.D.) from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts (USA). Following this, she pursued an additional three years of advanced training in Prosthodontics, earning both a specialty degree and board certification.

In 2017, Dr. DeFuria successfully challenged the rigorous American Board of Prosthodontics exam and became a Diplomate of the Board—a distinction that highlights her commitment to excellence in her field. She is passionate about delivering comprehensive, high-quality care, with a mission to create healthy, lasting smiles.

Since relocating to Milan in 2017 as an American expatriate, Dr. DeFuria has experienced firsthand the challenges of adapting to a new country, culture, and healthcare system. This personal journey has deepened her empathy for patients—particularly those navigating dental care in an unfamiliar environment. She understands the anxiety many people feel when visiting the dentist, and she works diligently to provide a reassuring, supportive experience.

In 2019, she received official recognition from the Ministero della Salute (Italian Ministry of Health), enabling her to practice dentistry in Italy. Dr. DeFuria is now fully committed to serving the oral health needs of her Milan-based patients. Her goal is to bridge the gap, easing the stress for those who might feel overwhelmed. As an American-trained specialist, she offers a comprehensive treatment approach with clear, step-by-step communication—ensuring that patients are always informed and educated about their oral health.
