Apple Tree Creative English School

This is a creative English School for children from birth to 14 years. In the mornings they run a British Pre-school for children from the age of 18 months to 5 years and in the afternoons and on weekends they offer English language classes and creative workshops in English including theatre, music and arts & crafts. They are an International Club where children off all nationalities come together to learn, develop and play in English. All teachers are fully qualified native English speakers. The Apple Tee Club was founded in 2009, in Majadahonda, Madrid and was an initiative born out of a need to bring the international community together with the local community of Majadahonda to create a club, a place where both cultures can interact and where international children and children from the local community can get together and explore English in a creative and fun but challenging way. In 2013 a second centre was opened in Villalba to offer services to children and families living in the North West mountain range of Madrid. There are now some 150 students that are part of our growing club in Madrid– sharing in our fun activities throughout the week and on weekends.

Just wanted to share my favourite little spot for hanging out with other mums and toddlers – the Apple Tree Club in Majadahonda. I love the place. I discovered it not long after moving here 1.5 years ago, and I honestly feel that it made my transition into life in Madrid way easier than any of my previous moves to new cities/countries. My boys and I made friends quickly at the mums and toddlers group and my eldest son went to the playgroup in the mornings and loved it. The teachers are very friendly and caring and the whole philosophy of the place is kind of Montessori, learn through play and creativity, that sort of thing. I love that it is more flexible than typical Spanish guarderías – you can send your kids for just 2 or 3 mornings a week if you prefer. (Louise Burford)
