Aquinas American School is a Catholic, college-preparatory, co-ed school that offers the US curriculum with certified American teachers, as well as the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. 


The Aquinas American School follows the national curriculum of the United States of America, carrying out college preparatory exams such as SATs and UNED. AAS is a member of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, under which it is fully accredited to teach the American curriculum overseas.

AAS is also authorised to teach the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, and High School students can choose between obtaining an American High School Diploma or the IB Diploma. High School students are also required to perform 100 hours of community service during their last 4 academic years.

AAS is also a full member of the National Catholic Educational Association,an American voluntary association of educators and Catholic institutions. It represents 200,000 Catholic educators serving 7.6 million students in Catholic elementary and secondary schools, in religious education programs, in seminaries, and in colleges and universities.

The school also offers a boarding programme.

Fees & Admissions

Annual tuition fees for Grade 1 starts at 8,300 and rises to 10,000 for High School students, with 2,000 extra for the IB Diploma Program. You can see a breakdown of fees plus costs for extra services such as school lunches here.

The Aquinas American School is non-selective, but requires an admissions process that includes references from former schools and documentation. AAS is located in Pozuelo de Alarcón, in the quiet neighbourhood of Monte Alina, a privileged residential area bordering Boadilla del Monte. It is a 25-minute drive from the city centre westwards.
