Association Rennais Centres Sociaux

January 25, 2018 | Activities, Baby & Toddler, France, Home & Admin, Rennes

A first stop for all parents when moving in to your new town/city in France should be the Centre Social. Not only do they offer plenty of activities for babies, toddlers and children of all ages but also offer lots of fun activities for parents to – it really is the centre of activity in every French town. The ARCS in Rennes gives information on each Centre Social in the Rennes area. On their website you can find details of all the activities offered and a list of all the centres in the Rennes metropolitan area. For the surrounding area and the rest of Brittany there is a separate website.

The Centre Social in Plelan really has been a god send for me! As my town doesn´t have a nursery I struggled to find activities for my 2 year old until I found the parents and babies/toddlers group there. It cost just 3 euros to become a member and 3 euros for the year for the group – a bargain! It´s a wonderful safe, clean and well equipped play area where all the children are free to play as they please with some organised activities such as painting and story telling and a once a month trip to library for a reading session. I can´t recommend it highly enough- I don´t know what I would have done without it! (Sara Plumier)
