Oh Mother Barcelona, A Parenting Podcast

Oh Mother Barcelona began as a parenting podcast by Lucie Lanham, sharing her experiences of parenthood as an English family based in Barcelona.

Originally from the Uk, Lucie moved to Barcelona in 2011, where she lives with her husband and two young sons. For each episode, Lucie is joined by a parent in Barcelona for a conversation about their life as a parent, what they do for a job, their passions, family fun and any recommendations they have to make other parents lives easier.

Someone once said that it takes a village to raise a child, I started the podcast ‘Oh Mother Where Art Thou’ to share and learn and help to build our village.” – Lucie Lanham, Founder of Oh Mother Where Art Thou’ .

Past episodes have covered subjects from self-care tips and stretches for busy mums to school applications in Catalonia and how to survive as a Mother of 5. Listen to more episodes of the podcast on Soundcloud.

Events for mums in Barcelona

Realising that other mums living abroad felt the same way and had many experiences in common, Oh Mother also began to host regular meet ups and events for parents in Barcelona. Past events have included an Oh Mother brunch, Mama’s Merienda a Mama’s Christmas Party and more.

In 2019, Lucie also launched an overnight retreat series called Mama’s Night Off, giving mums 24 hours away to focus on themselves and enjoy some much deserved pampering. Located around an hour outside the city, Oh Mother retreats are the perfect getaway for busy mums to relax and reset. Past retreat programmes have included spa treatments, lunches by the sea, yoga, lie-ins and breakfast in bed – heaven!

I really enjoy the easy going formula of Lucie’s podcasts and it’s always interesting to hear from other parents in Barcelona.. There are so many articles I don’t get around to reading because there just aren’t enough hours in the day but with a podcast you don’t have to stop what you are doing to listen.
