Hospital Grasse is a big general hospital that has a separate maternity and paediatric section. The Neo-natal unit (level 2) includes an intensive care unit for newborn babies. The unit is designed to allow parents to stay 24 hours with their child using “kangaroo” beds (excluding intensive care). The pneumology and maternity services of CH Grasse have joined together to offer a programme to encourage pregnant women to stop smoking. This is centred around anti-smoking counseling, hypnosis, sophrology and yoga activities.

Generally it has a good reputation and the midwives are good and professional . It is a large general hospital that is clean with good facilities where they have single rooms but will be prioritised to women that have caesarean. Like everything in France It can make it a little difficult when your French isn’t so good and there are few people who speak English. (Birgit Renshaw)
