Children’s Lending Library

December 11, 2017 | Baby & Toddler, Italy, Tuscany & Umbria

Originally founded in 1973 to cater to the children of the English-speaking community, today the Library’s resources of books, videos and DVDs in English are utilized by the Florence community as well.  The Library also holds a children’s party at Easter, Halloween and Christmas which gives both parents and children a chance to meet and enjoy some of the games and activities they provide. The Library is a non-profit, volunteer-run Association, that is able to replenish its stock and to cover yearly running costs by membership donations and the proceeds from the children’s parties. Other events are scheduled throughout the year. Their collection of books cover the ages of toddlers through to around 16 years of age. The library is open to the public from mid September through June.

This has to be one of the city’s best source of English children’s books and DVD’s. It opens just a few mornings a week, so see the website for opening times. They also hold special events during Xmas, Easter and Halloween. (Kirsten Hills)
