Colegio Europeo de Madrid is a private multilingual school for 0-18 year olds located in Las Rozas. It is currently in the applicant school phase of the Primary Years Programme (PYP) 3-12 years of the International Baccalaureate. CEM works every day to develop the skills of each of its pupils and to promote universal values that contribute not only to their academic results, but also to their development as people prepared to thrive in a globalised world.
Pedagogical innovation is one of its pillars and, following the model of the Cognita group, to which it has belonged since 2018, it never ceases to implement the most up-to-date projects in order to continue offering its students the best teaching-learning opportunities. Some of the innovation projects for which CEM has received awards include the Ulises project, which consists of implementing Debate as a subject from 1st Primary (recognised as the best project in the category of innovative educational practices in the ACADE Education and Freedom Awards) or the Ítaca Project (selected among the best projects in the ACADE Educational Innovation Awards, within teaching practices), which seeks to encourage creative writing and a taste for reading. Together with the Radio project, in which radio is taught as a subject in its own radio studio, CEM demonstrates its strong commitment to the development of communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Other outstanding projects of the European School of Madrid are Philosophy for Children, the Technological Transformation project with individual devices, CenturyTech or the Be Well Together Programme.
CEM is a benchmark school in Spain and other countries both for its own methodology and its technological trajectory, at the forefront with the founding of the European Valley Institution in 2016 as a technology laboratory.
