Colegio Inglés Zaragoza: Bilingual Education bringing the local and international community together

Founded in 1970 as the first Spanish-English bilingual school in Aragon, Colegio Inglés Zaragoza offers an excellent education for children aged 3 to 16 years old. With more than 50 years of experience, the school maintains its family-oriented ethos within a natural setting, while broadening its global outlook.

As the international community continues to grow, now comprising 28% of the student body and representing 24 nationalities, the school fosters a multicultural environment that enriches both the campus and the wider community.

The school’s educational model is based on personalised attention, small class sizes, and a friendly atmosphere that allows each student to progress at their own pace. Technology is thoughtfully integrated into the learning process to promote digital responsibility and active learning, without fostering over-reliance on screens.

Curriculum

Bilingual education is the cornerstone of the school’s educational philosophy. From the Early Years stage (infants), children are immersed in English as the main language of instruction, guided by native-speaking teachers from the United Kingdom and Ireland. During this stage, the British Curriculum is followed, with 100% of classes delivered in English initially, followed by a gradual and balanced introduction to Spanish to support full linguistic development.

In Primary and Secondary education, students are encouraged to develop critical thinking, intercultural understanding, and confidence in both spoken and written communication across multiple languages.

Colegio Inglés Zaragoza nurtures confident, socially responsible students who are equipped to face future challenges with success. At the school, English is not merely a subject but a gateway to a world of opportunities and an extraordinary life. Academic results speak for themselves, with exceptional pass rates at B1 level in Year 6 (6º de Primaria) and outstanding achievements at C1 and C2 levels by Year 11 (4º de ESO), establishing the school as a recognised leader in English-language education throughout Aragon.

To support the successful integration of new students, the school offers tailored, individualised support. The Buddy Project pairs new pupils with older student mentors, while welcome tutorials provide both emotional and academic assessments to help identify each child’s specific needs. Language reinforcement classes offer targeted support, led by expert native-speaking teachers with extensive international experience and a deep understanding of the challenges of multicultural education.

The Breaktime Club promotes harmony and inclusion through empathy-focused activities, encouraging organic friendships between students from diverse backgrounds. Throughout this process, the school ensures bilingual and transparent communication with all families, keeping parents well informed about their child’s educational journey.

Location & Facilities

The school is set in a quiet, natural area on the outskirts of Zaragoza, featuring bright, spacious classrooms and excellent indoor and outdoor facilities. It includes a well-stocked library, specialised rooms for music, art, science, and sports, as well as plenty of outdoor sports courts, a swimming pool, and dedicated spaces for younger children.

Fees & Admissions

Annual school fees start at 6530 € per year for Early Years, 7330 € for Primary and 8290 € for Secondary. The school offers a 50% discount for 3rd siblings onwards, and options including school transport and school day extensions, for an additional fee.

Choosing the right educational environment is one of the most important decisions a parent can make. Colegio Inglés Zaragoza recognises this responsibility and invites families to discover the school’s approach through a personalised interview – either in person or online, and to explore its unique educational project.

The enrolment period is open year round, however, in order to guarantee a place, the school recommends registering as soon as possible. More information about fees and admissions and upcoming open days can be found on the school website.
