Creators International School is the first international STEM-focused school on the Costa del Sol, set to open soon in Benahavís. Blending the British curriculum with hands-on learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, the school is designed to prepare children not just for exams, but for life.

With a vision to nurture bold thinkers, resilient problem-solvers, and compassionate leaders, Creators offers a personalised, future-focused education where curiosity and creativity take centre stage. We spoke with Marketing Officer Estefanía Villaespesa about the school’s founding mission and what makes this new learning environment so unique.

Can you introduce Creators, and tell us about the school’s founding vision and what inspired its creation?

Creators International School was founded with a singular mission: to empower the next generation of global thinkers, innovators, and ethical leaders. Our vision is to transcend traditional education by creating an environment where curiosity, creativity, and technical excellence converge. Inspired by the belief that future leaders will need both strong STEM foundations and human-centric skills, we designed a curriculum that prepares children not just to succeed in exams, but to shape the future.

Creators is the first international STEM school on the Costa del Sol. What does that mean in practical terms for students and families?

Being the first international STEM school on the Costa del Sol means we offer a unique, future-focused education that blends the British curriculum with deep, hands-on immersion in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths. Our students don’t just learn these subjects, they apply them daily through projects, problem-solving, and cross-disciplinary challenges. One of your core messages is that you’re not just a school but a “launchpad for future leaders and creators.” What makes the learning environment at Creators so different?

At Creators, we redefine what a school can be. Our learning environment is intentionally intimate and intellectually stimulating. With a student-centered approach and a maximum of 12 students per class, we focus on nurturing every child’s unique strengths and passions. Beyond academics, we guide students to become bold thinkers, resilient problem-solvers, and empathetic leaders ready to make an impact.

You offer a bespoke STEM and entrepreneurship curriculum. Could you share how entrepreneurship is integrated into students’ learning from such a young age?

Entrepreneurship at Creators begins early, not just as a business concept but as a mindset. Through project-based learning, students are encouraged to identify problems, prototype solutions, and bring ideas to life. Whether it’s designing a product, running a mini-venture, or pitching an innovation, our students practice real-world skills like teamwork, communication, and financial literacy from the start. After all, we are nurturing the pioneers of tomorrow, let’s help them give the first steps in the business world they will be shaping.

With small class sizes (only 12 students per class), how does this personalised approach benefit each student’s development, both academically and personally?

Our small class sizes are the cornerstone of our personalised learning model. Teachers can tailor lessons to individual learning styles, interests, and pace. This ensures that students are not only challenged but also supported. It allows us to foster stronger relationships, boost confidence, and create an emotionally safe environment where students feel seen, heard, and empowered to take intellectual risks.

Creators School embraces the British curriculum but with a strong emphasis on innovation. How do you maintain academic excellence while also encouraging creativity and critical thinking?

We maintain rigorous academic standards while embedding innovation through inquiry-based learning, interdisciplinary projects, and the integration of emerging technologies. Our educators are trained to go beyond rote memorization, fostering a deep understanding of concepts and encouraging students to question, debate, and imagine alternative futures. Creativity and critical thinking are not electives, they are embedded into every subject and lesson plan.

innovation through inquiry-based learning,

How does your integration of STEM with the Arts look in practice? Can you give us an example of a cross-disciplinary project or lesson?

Our STEAM approach (STEM + Arts) creates vibrant learning experiences. For example, students might design a sustainable city that combines architectural principles (Engineering), environmental science (Science), coding simulations (Technology), and visual storytelling (Art). These projects cultivate both analytical and creative competencies—equipping students to think holistically and solve real-world problems.

Your curriculum includes preparation for Olympiads and academic competitions. Why are these kinds of events so central to your educational philosophy?

Olympiads and academic competitions are more than just contests—they are platforms for excellence, resilience, and global engagement. Preparing for them sharpens analytical thinking, deepens subject mastery, and encourages intellectual discipline. They also help students develop a growth mindset and the confidence to tackle complex challenges—skills that are essential in a fast-changing world.

Can you tell us more about your team of educators and how they are shaping the learning experience at Creators?

Our educators are mentors, innovators, and lifelong learners. Each brings international experience, subject mastery, and a shared commitment to our mission. With ongoing professional development, our team stays at the forefront of educational research and practice. They work collaboratively to co-design personalised learning journeys that ignite each student’s potential.

How do you support students in developing not just academic skills, but also emotional intelligence, ethical leadership, and resilience?

We integrate social-emotional learning into daily school life. Students engage in reflective practices, empathy-building activities, and collaborative discussions around ethics, identity, and responsibility. Leadership is fostered through service learning and team-based projects. Our goal is to cultivate well-rounded individuals who lead with compassion, adapt with resilience, and act with integrity.
