January 12, 2018 | Activities, Germany, Munich

One of the worlds largest science and technology museums, the Deutsches Museum is open daily from 09:00 to 17:00. In the more than 30 exhibitions covering 25,000 square metres of floor space, you’ll find a wealth of masterpieces of science and technology. Guided tours for children 8-12 years old for around 1 hour are available if you book in advance. The Kid’s Kingdom is a large space for children from 3-8 years with attractions such as a giant guitar, optics table and a building site with big Lego blocks.

The Kids Kingdom is fantastic with hundreds of activites and games for little ones between 3 and 7. I have been lots of times with my kids and they never seem to bore of it. Great to see them learning about science and technology whilst playing and enjoying themselves. They also love the adult exhibitions – in particularly the planes and ships. For older children there are more structured activities such as an inventors trail and DNA visitors laboratory. There is so much to see so don’t expect you are going to get it all done in one day! . The exhibition texts appear in two languages: German and English but all the activities and classes are in German. It doesn’t matter for the little ones in Kids Kingdom as its so hands-on but obviously would impact the older childrens activities. (Carolin Borg)
