Mondo Doula

November 27, 2017 | Emilia-Romagna, Italy, Maternity Services, Milan, Rome, Tuscany & Umbria

In addition to being a professional school for doulas, Mondo Doula is a national and regional network of doulas. You can find information about doulas in your region by looking at the interactive map of Italy on the website.

The philosophy of Mondo Doula:

Appreciate the wisdom of the mothers
At the centre of the practices of a doula is the mother with her subjectivity, her story, her perceptions and visions.

A maternal language
The main intention of Mondo Doula’s doulas is to build and write a new and reference language for mothers, their children and their families. A vocabulary “felt” by mothers because it corresponds to their most authentic needs. A motherly language, clear and simple that can act socially with effectiveness and incision.

Cultures of mom
The doulas of the world care about the rights of mothers and their babies. Taking them into consideration in their practices means aiming to build a culture that is sensitive and attentive to motherhood and parenthood and the growth processes of children.

A community craft
Translating mothers’ skills, such as caring, welcoming, strength, contact, nurturing and many more, into useful resources for the entire community. With simple arts, slowly build communities rich in depth and peace.

Linda is a wonderful doula and mom who is very involved in the doula and birthing community. Her English is limited but she is a very caring and compassionate doula who makes everyone around her feel comfortable. Linda knows many of the hospital structures very well and also works with other doulas on various projects around Milan. If you’re looking for a great doula who can help before, during and after labor, I highly recommend Linda! (Kathy Moulton)
