Englischer Garten

January 12, 2018 | Activities, Germany, Munich

The English Garden in Munich is a huge 900 acre park stretching from the city centre to the North East of Munich. It is one of the worlds largest public parks. There are 4 beer gardens in the park as well as a large river. The best way to reach it is on bus 54 from “Muenchner Freiheit” tube station (stop “Chinesischer Turm”).

As we don’t have a large garden for the kids to play we are here ALL the time riding our bikes, having picnics and swimming in the river in the summer. In the winter its great for sledging and there are beautiful christmas markets. Great artifical wave in the river where you can watch people surfing! If you head for the “Hirschau” beer garden you can enjoy some live jazz whilst the kids entertain themselves at the playground or minigolf right next door. (Carolin Borg)
