The English School of Barcelona is an international school that follows the Spanish national curriculum up until the end of ESO 4, teaching pupils ages 3-16. The school introduces French as a 4th language so students may go on to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme or the Batxibac, which is a dual qualification covering the Spanish and French national curriculums. For more information on the Spanish education system, read our Education in Spain page.
The English School of Barcelona offers full English immersion for pupils from ages 3-16, alongside Castellano Spanish and Catalan tuition that follows the Spanish national curriculum. Classes are split between the three languages. For an idea of the lesson and course material, see this link for the books and materials necessary to begin secondary education (ages 11-12). Once past the ESO 4 stage, students will be prepared to study either the International Baccalaureate programme or the Batxibac programme, which covers both Spanish and French tuition.
Individualised linguistic support programmes are provided to pupils. The extra-curricular activities include chess, tennis, basketball, ballet, arts & crafts, robotics, skating, yoga and drum lessons.
The school is located in the hills behind Parc Guell, and is a 20 minute drive from the city centre.
The school does not make public its fees on its School Fees page, but enquiries can be made via an online form on the school’s website.
