This European bison reserve in one of the most beautiful parks in France. The forest is the natural habitat of the European bison. With a weight of up to one ton and a girth of 2 meters, the bison is undoubtedly the largest European land mammal. In winter, the visit of the European bison reserve of Sainte-Eulalie is done by horse drawn sleigh. When the snow has disappeared, the visits of the reserve are carried out by horse and carriage. In addition to the discovery of the bison, the reserve also has an animal museum with audio-visual media and a real prehistoric cave restored to discover the fascinating history of the European bison. The reserve is situated about 200km from Lyon and Montpellier.
