Explora Children’s Museum (Il Museu dei Bambini de Roma), is an interactive museum in the Flaminio district north of the historic centre, where children learn by doing. The museum is dedicated to free play and exploration, and resembles a small town complete with a supermarket, bank, post office, fire station, recycling point, vegetable garden and more.
The museum operates a timed ticketing system with each session lasting 1 hour 45 minutes. Children can explore and experiment at their own pace and according to their own inclinations. Advance reservations are compulsory during weekends, on public holidays and during the school holidays.
Explora also hosts a programme of temporary exhibitions, workshops and animated readings. There is a refreshment area within the museum. Parents can also book birthday parties for a range of ages, with different options available to choose from.

This museum is better for younger children, but my older children ages 11 and 9 enjoyed themselves too. (Jane)
