For readers who may not have heard of Cozycozy before, could you give us a brief introduction to what it is? 

Cozycozy is a French-Hungarian startup founded in 2017. The platform was launched in 2020. It operates as an online metasearch engine for accommodations. The company was created by the former founders of Liligo, a flight comparison site – experts with deep experience in building metasearch platforms.

What makes Cozycozy different from other booking platforms or accommodation search engines out there?

Unlike other platforms, we include all types of accommodations from a wide range of providers. As well as Booking.com, we also list Airbnb, as well as local and smaller providers, tailored to the needs of each market. We’re available in over 50 markets worldwide, including the US, France, Germany, the UK, Canada, Mexico, and more.

Why do you think travellers today need a platform like Cozycozy?

There are tons of accommodation providers, including major players like Booking.com and Airbnb. Travellers often have to choose between these platforms and local providers. This can lead to frustration, as finding a place to stay becomes very time-consuming when checking every site individually.

Cozycozy aims to solve this by gathering all accommodation options in one place, so users can see every available lodging on a single page with just one search. To avoid overwhelm from too many results, they can easily tailor their search using our filters.

Cozycozy brings together a huge range of accommodation options, from hotels and apartments to boats and tree houses. Why is this diversity so important?

Travellers have different needs and preferences. Some seek full comfort with meals included, while others look for simpler options,  even a tent or a yurt. The destination also plays a big role in the type of accommodation people choose. For example, in Japan, travellers might prefer a traditional ryokan; in Marrakesh, a riad; in other places, it might be houseboats or treehouses that offer the most authentic experience. In many cases, people are simply browsing and get inspired when they see something they like on our website.

Have you noticed any recent travel trends when it comes to how people are booking accommodation?

Camping was becoming more popular during the summer, but as the season ends, travellers tend to prefer cottages or cabins. Holiday rentals and hotels remain the most popular choices overall, as they are less affected by seasonality.

Can you share some of the more unusual or surprising accommodations people can find through Cozycozy? Is there a growing demand for unique or alternative stays compared to traditional hotels?

Bookings for hotels still outnumber those for unique stays, but this summer, demand for unique stays was higher than last year. It’s a niche need, but when users want to stay somewhere unique, they can explore all available options on Cozycozy.

From bubble stays in Iceland and Costa Rica to igluhuts in Germany, yurts in Mongolia, riads in Morocco, retro caravans in the Netherlands, wine barrel rooms in Portugal, castles in Scotland, and even private jets in Indonesia, the platform showcases an incredible variety of distinctive accommodations that cater to travellers looking for something truly out of the ordinary.
