pudding restaurant

“Pudding is a Wonderland-esque themed café perfect for cooling off in the heat of summer (or cheering up the rarest of rainy days). They serve doorstop slices of scrumptious homemade quiche, and a tempting selection of home-baked treats, all in a surreal fairytale-like settling. Kids love the long banquet table covered in games and activity books – they even lend iPads to those who ask nicely! They run a fantastic after school club for older kids too.” — Julia Collins

Petit Moll, Vilassar de Mar

“An idyllic setting on the soft sands of the beach at Vilassar de Mar. Only open from May to September, this quaint little seafood restaurant (more of a shack) is absolutely perfect for families – kids can play in the sand and shallow clear waters with parents looking on whilst sipping a chilled glass of rosado and nibbling calamares or pescadito frito. On Tuesday summer nights you can enjoy the melodic sounds of Habaneres singers, who, last time I was there, were cheered on by current Catalan President Artur Mas!” — Carrie Frais

They have a good children’s menu and the staff, as everywhere in Spain, are extremely tolerant of noisy little ones, although I tend to let them play outside so the rest of us can enjoy the delicious ‘kilometre zero’ cuisine and locally sourced wine!” — Carrie Frais
