Hostal de la Plaça is located in the heart of the pretty village of Cabrils and has been in the same family for more than 70 years. The fourth generation now run this restaurant that fuses the traditional cuisine with modern gastronomy in a privileged setting in the heart of the Maresme. The origins go back to the post-war years, when Doloretes Galbany and Josep Mas were forced to seek alternatives to the hardships of the time. She was a hairdresser and he had just come back from the front line. Given the need for extra income, they decided to draw on the culinary skills of Doloretes, and began to cook dishes for holidaymakers spending the summer in Cabrils.

One of the friendliest, relaxed environments you can find in Maresme. Cosy in the winter, cool with amazing views in the summer. Try their delicious tomato bread, tortilla and cannelloni… the original and still the staples on the menu of this family business. But also try cod with honey, grilled Galician clams and the chickpea stew. All are something special. (Carrie Frais)
