Incredibly many years ago this was once a rubbish dump but then a group of volunteers transformed this little river valley into a secluded community garden. Best enjoyed in late spring – summer; there are lots of shrubs, trees, wooden bridges and sculptures to admire. Follow the meandering path downhill and you will emerge on to the main road opposite Villa d’Este.

This is a very tranquil place to take children. You can talk about nature, sit and read a book on the benches or touch the gigantic carved wooden snail. No picnics allowed. A bit of a steep walk uphill to the entrance gate but worth it. (Anne-Marie)
