19 Feb ISCAT La Garriga
The International School of Catalunya (ISCAT) opened its doors for the first time in 2007, with a mission to offer both local and international families in the Barcelona region a values-based and dynamic education for their children. ISCAT has grown from just 13 students in its first year to a current enrolment of more than 230. In 2012, they established the Forest School programme, currently a pioneer project in Spain. This, under the guidance of Forest Leader Emma Montgomery, has complemented their outdoor education programme. As a British International School, they follow the National Curriculum of England and Wales from Early Years through to A-Levels. For Year 10 Secondary students (at 15-16 years old), they offer the IGCSE examinations. In September 2019, ISCAT will again write history with the inauguration of ISCAT Boarding, a new boarding facility for international students in La Garriga, as well as the launching of ISCAT Maresme – a brand-new purpose-built campus in Canet de Mar – enabling local and international families living on the Costa Brava and the Maresme region to form part of their thriving community.
