The International School of Catalunya (ISCAT La Garriga) opened its doors for the first time in 2007, with a mission to offer both local and international families in the Barcelona region a values-based and dynamic English curriculum education for children aged 3-18.

ISCAT has grown from just 13 students in its first year to a current enrolment of more than 230.

In 2012, they established the Forest School programme, currently a pioneer project in Spain. This, under the guidance of Forest Leader Emma Montgomery, has complemented their outdoor education programme.

In September 2019 the school opened the ISCAT Boarding facility, a new boarding facility for international students in La Garriga, and launched the ISCAT Maresme – a brand-new purpose-built campus in Canet de Mar – enabling local and international families living on the southern Costa Brava and the Maresme regions closer access to its tuition.

Curriculum

ISCAT La Garriga follows the English national curriculum from early years through to A Levels. For year 10-11 secondary students (at 15-16 years old), they offer the iGCSE examinations. The school also helps students receive double accreditation and convalidate their secondary studies to the Spanish education system (ESO). A list of subjects of study at A Level can be found on the school’s website.

Location

The ISCAT La Garriga campus is located near the city of Granollers, and is a 50 minute drive from Barcelona city.

School fees for the 2021-22 academic year can be downloaded on the school’s website; they start at €7,350 for early years and go up to €13,650 for key stage 5.

The perfect balance between a small school with personalized attention and the high standards of the British curriculum. Our son started in the school in 2015 and his progress is outstanding. Emotional education, Forest school and reduced class ratios make it perfect for us.
