La Società del Sacro Cuore, founded in Paris in 1800 by Santa Maddalena Sofia Barat, opened the boarding school for Christian training and education in Florence in 1881. The school offered a tremendous culture based on on literary, linguistic and historical-philosophical studies.
Location
The Istituto del Sacro Cuore is located near the heart of Florence, on the other side of the river Arno from the city centre. It is based on parkland on the Viale Michelangiolo.
