The Japanese School of Milan teaches a Japanese education to mainly children of families working in Milan.
The Japanese School (Scuola Giapponese di Milano, ミラノ日本人学校, Mirano Nihonjin Gakkō) is a Japanese international school in Milan, Italy.
The school has around 120 pupils and was originally established to host the children of those working for Japanese companies based in Milan. The school teaches the Japanese national curriculum to puils from ages 6 to 15.
The school was founded on 25 February 1976.
The school’s website is in Japanese only. Japanese schools do not always teach local languages as families can be mobile and aiming to return to Japan once an assignment is complete. The international Japanese schools help Japanese students continue their Japanese education to allow them to continue to study upon retuning, or to apply for a university place.
Application forms can be found here.
Japanese-language schools can also be found in Rome in Italy.
The school is located in the Lorenteggio district of Milan, and is a 20 to 25-minute drive westwards from the city centre.
