Judy Sharp International School in Madrid

Judy Sharp International School is a small, non-profit Middle and High School in Madrid dedicated to educating English-speaking students aged 11–18 (US System grades 6–12).

The school offers an individualised curriculum that is tailored for capable students who face challenges in a conventional classroom setting and who are seeking a nurturing, supportive environment with individualised guidance and support.

While they tailor their educational offerings to each student, they are accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, Accreditation International, and the Comunidad de Madrid.

Their passion for learning and unwavering commitment to student well-being have been the driving forces that have shaped the school into what it is today.

For that reason, the school places a strong emphasis on understanding and assisting neurodiverse students and students with various academic, social-emotional, and behavioural challenges, including dyslexia, attention deficit disorder (ADD), hyperactivity (ADHD), and high-functioning students on the autism spectrum, as well as other specific learning challenges.

“At Judy Sharp International School, our mission has always been crystal clear: to empower students with special curricular needs to discover their unique pathways to success.”

Judy Sharp staff receive training to help students with these specific learning needs each year, and as a staff, they have over 100 years of experience. This allows the team to craft an individualised learning plan for each and every student that comes through the doors of the school.

They keep their class sizes small to focus on each individual student, with an average student-to-teacher ratio of 2:1. Since 2018, Judy Sharp has had a 100% graduation rate and a 96% college acceptance rate. Meaning that not only do they meet students where they are, but they also push for each of them to find their own individual path to success. Their aim is and has always been to be the best “little” school in Madrid.

Judy Sharp school is located in the quiet neighborhood of Pozuelo de Alarcón, in the greater Madrid metropolitan area. Our students arrive at school via train (Pozuelo Cercanias Train Station), bus (line 656-A), or car.

Our building is a small, independent chalet with just enough space for everything our students need. This requires us to be creative with our use of space and respectful of those around us. Our goal is to create a family environment where everyone feels at home.
