Kendale Primary International School in Rome teaches both English & Italian speaking curriculums for pupils aged 4-11.
Kendale Primary International School was established in 1972. The school has a long history of high academic achievement and prepares its pupils for both international and Italian middle schools. Classes range from primary (4 -5 years) to 5th Grade (Year 6), and are small with an average of 10-14 students per class.
English is the language of instruction for all subjects, with all classroom teachers fully qualified and with English as their mother tongue. The exception is for students who choose to study regular Italian classes for the optional Italian 5th Grade exams, which is vital for students wishing to pursue education in Italian in later years. The school’s compulsory curriculum is based on the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), which was introduced worldwide in 2000 by Fieldwork Education. The system has been rolled out to 1,000 schools in over 90 countries worldwide.
The school organises several local field trips a year for each class. Students in 4th and 5th grade have the option of participating in extended trips to Florence in connection with their Renaissance studies and to Greece in connection with their studies on ancient civilizations.
School fees range from €7,650 to €11,000 annually. The school also offers transportation services and discounts for families with more than one child at the school. See an overview of tuition fees here.
The school has no stated admissions policy, and prospective parents can contact the school following links below or on the school’s Contact Us page.
The school is based in the Municipio XV district of Rome, on border of Riserva Naturale dell’Insugherata. It is a 20 to 30-minute drive from Rome city centre.
