Anti-Diet Dietician
Kristen Kiesow (she/her) is a registered Dietitian-Nutritionist from the United States and currently living in Hamburg, Germany. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Nutrition, completed 1200 hours of supervised practice, and received a passing score for the Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist examination. Kristen has experience working with a wide range of clinical nutrition challenges, such as gastrointestinal distress, cardiovascular health, eating disorder treatment, and pre- and post-partum nutrition.
While Kristen has a wide range of prior nutrition experience, she is passionate about fighting diet culture and helping people find food freedom. Kristen’s nutrition sessions focus on gaining a connection with your body’s natural signals and finding health solutions that work for you. She works within the Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size (HAES) frameworks. You will not find any “one size fits all” solutions here! No matter where you are in your health journey, it is never too late to begin taking small steps toward your health goals.
Kristen considers herself an “anti-diet dietitian”. Let’s face it, diets don’t work! Studies have proven that following a restrictive diet does not achieve sustainable, long-lasting, positive health results. Kristen believes that “all foods fit” into a healthy lifestyle. You will not need to give up the foods you love in order to achieve your health goals. In a session with Kristen, you will discuss your background, food preferences, and individual life. You will be met with a non-judgmental and weight-inclusive approach to find solutions that work for you.
Kristen is a board-certified Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and a Licensed Dietitain-Nutritionist in Pennsylvania. In Germany, she has the professional title of Ernährungswissenschaftlerin based on her education and experience in German Law. Kristen has worked at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and at the Renfrew Center for Eating Disorder Treatment.
