La Reggia di Venaria & Parco La Mandria

December 30, 2017 | Activities, Italy, Turin

The beautiful town of Veneria Reale is home to La Reggia di Veneria, an international masterpiece of baroque architecture and elegance, once residence to the Savoys. Here you can admire art, taste, design and style with regular exhibitions to be enjoyed.  A visit to La Reggia wouldn’t be complete without a walk around the Royal Gardens, with hectares of beautiful paths, rose gardens, ponds, fountains and orchards. The estate itself extends into the Park of La Mandria, one of the largest environmental havens in Europe where numerous species of wild animals live in complete freedom and where historical and architectural heritage is preserved. La Reggia and La Mandria are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Online booking available. See local listings for regular events, activities, exhibitions and summer programme. Entrance to La Mandria is free and there are regular train and bus tours available.

A wonderful family outing. La Reggia is magnificent and the gardens are spectacular. A walk around the old town is definitely worth it too. La Mandria is huge so a bus tour is a good idea if you have tired legs or young children. There’s just too much to do in one day! (Lyn Gladwin)
