Laura is an artist and published illustrator with more than 15 years of experience, formed in Venezuela and Japan. She lived in Japan for 10 years and is inspired by Japanese culture and traditional patterns and works mainly with manual illustration techniques and paper cut illustration. More recently she has experimented with digitally intervened linocut prints, obtaining amazing results. Laura studied Animation at Musashino Art University, Tokyo. Laura has illustrated over a dozen children’s books and worked as the exclusive illustrator of a Design Studio in Tokyo.
Laura is also dedicated to teaching Japanese and manga to children and teenagers, online and face to face, and has a very enthusiastic group of students ranging from 5 to 16 years old.
Originally from Venezuela, she is now settled in the outskirts of Barcelona, in a little town in front of the sea. She is combining both of her passions and is developing an illustrated original method to learn Japanese characters in a fun and creative way.
