A truly unique day trip to Montseny. Enjoy nature as you walk among the olive trees to reach the orchard, where you see where the host Jerusa grows her organic vegetables. Get dirty as they harvest radishes and onions and various vegetables of the season, then you head home to cook our organic food. Jerusa learned her love of cooking from her mother and a love of nature from her father. She restored her family’s country home and cultivates organic crops. Ideal for all ages. Bring a swimming costume! Jerusa also sells organic veggies, eggs and chicken.

We went to a Masia that belongs to a friend just 30 minutes out of Barcelona. She has an organic garden and animals and invites people to come out for the day, harvest calcots, prepare them and then have a lunch together (and you don’t have to help if you don’t want to). My son (3) and I did this last weekend and it was AMAZING. She offers a few more of those calçotadas, and it’s also a wonderful way to meet new people and be in nature. (It is also really cheap, only like 5 or 10 Euros for the adults and kids free (Katherine Seidler)
