Lycée Français de Barcelone

The Lycée Français de Barcelone is managed by the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), is a French speaking school, and one of the oldest international schools in Barcelona having opened its doors in 1924.

The French national curriculum is certifed by the French Ministry of Education and, in accordance with the French education system, goes from nursery to the national Baccalauréat diploma, the equivalent of the Spanish Bachillerato and the English A Levels.

The school has over 3,000 students and over 200 teachers.

The Lycée Français de Barcelone is recognised and authorised by the Spanish government, and incorporates all the programmes required by the Franco-Hispanic cultural agreements.

The school philosophy is based on the shared values of a democratic society: respect for others, autonomy, responsibility, trust, respecting differences, secularism, solidarity, equity and tolerance. The overall goal is for each student to be an actor of: their learning and education, the elaboration of their personal and professional project, and their participation within an open society.

Location

The school is located in the Pedrales district of Barcelona, and is a 20-30 minute drive from the city centre.
