Marie Mélinon is French and has been living in Barcelona for over 10 years. She has a special connexion with nature and is deeply committed to protecting the environment as best as possible. She is an environmental impact entrepreneur based in Barcelona. She founded pana, a cloth nappy hire and cleaning service to help families have a more sustainable lifestyle. Marie decided to shift careers from the translation industry to sustainability to help make a difference and protect the planet. While attending a 6-month business course organised by Barcelona Activa and Labcoop, she realised baby nappies represent up to 1 ton of non-recyclable waste per baby, so she decided to make it easier for families to switch from disposable to reusable cloth nappies. After discussing and organising tests with many families, she launched her cloth nappy hire and cleaning service in 2021.
Marie is an eager entrepreneur, she is curious to learn new skills and very focused on customer feedback to make their experience as seamless and enjoyable as possible. She is also involved in the local Zero Waste community and environmental activist to defend our rights for a sustainable life as well as educate people around her, like when she facilitates a Climate Fresk workshop. She has a blog, Yendo al grano, where she shares tips, experiments and local initiatives for a sustainable life. She also offers conferences and practical workshops on sustainable lifestyle to groups and supports individuals who would like to incorporate sustainable habits in their daily life.
When not cleaning or delivering cloth nappies, Marie practises yoga. She loves multi-day hikes and climbed Kilimanjaro in 2016. She has a tiny vegetable and herb garden on her city roof terrace training for when she’ll settle in her dream countryside house.
