Mother & Baby Group, Monaco

September 6, 2018 | Baby & Toddler, France, Nice

Founded in 1990 by Sandra Coleridge, the Mother and Baby group meets twice a week (Monday and Thursday from 9.15 to 11.45) at St. Paul’s Church in Monaco, Ave Grande Bretagne, and provides a safe and stimulating setting for toddlers to play and mothers to meet. The group is a very good place to share information about Doctors, Dentists, Schools etc., and to ask all those questions you may feel awkward about mentioning elsewhere. The group is genuinely open to all in the community, and there is no pre-condition or pressure to attend church.

I don’t know a single expat family who hasn’t met most of their close friends over the years under Sandra’s maternal gaze – both me, my sister and my mother have all made our closest friends through the group – most of my parents circle of friends (around 15 couples) met there!! Sandra has helped thousands of women meet people in those lonely few months in a new country. It is run twice a week with lots of toys and snacks for toddlers in a safe place (the library of a church – but don’t be put off – its not at all a “churchy” group!) – where mummies can meet and integrate – no organised activities just a time for socialising and playing. Sandra is much loved and a bit of a saint – she’s watched so many kids grow up and heard so many expat stories! They do a legendary xmas party (where I think even my dad has been roped in as Santa!)
