Mougins British International School – A British Education, Designed for the World

Founded in 1964, Mougins British International School is a leading co-educational school offering a full British curriculum from Early Years (age 2) through to A Levels (age 18). Located just 15 minutes from Cannes and 30 minutes from Nice, in the Sophia-Antipolis technology park, the school serves the international community with an English-speaking education enriched by daily French lessons.

Home to over 500 students from more than 55 nationalities, and staffed by a highly experienced international faculty, Mougins School fosters an inclusive and multicultural environment where students are encouraged to develop academically, socially, and personally. Beyond the classroom, students can participate in a variety of enrichment opportunities, including sports, performing arts, sustainability initiatives, and outdoor learning programmes that make the most of the school’s beautiful green campus.

Curriculum

Mougins School offers the National Curriculum for England, preparing students for internationally recognised qualifications such as IGCSEs and A Levels, which open doors to top universities worldwide.

In the Early Learning Centre, the English Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum lays the foundation for lifelong learning through play, exploration, and outdoor discovery — including unique features such as sensory gardens, and engage with the the School in the Woods programme, fostering curiosity and a love of learning in natural surroundings.

In the Primary School, students lay strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills through the engaging, hands-on approach of the British curriculum. With a focus on positive education and well-being, children are encouraged to build confidence, resilience, and a love of learning in a supportive environment.

In the Secondary School, students develop their independence and academic potential, supported by close teacher guidance as they prepare for IGCSE and A Level examinations. The school also offers enrichment opportunities such as THRIVE, LAMDA (speech and drama), sports and arts, helping students to discover passions, embrace challenges, and build the skills to succeed in life beyond school.

From September 2026, students aged 11 to 14 will be able to join their new Bilingual Pathway, a rigorous academic programme designed to develop advanced French proficiency and prepare them for France’s leading universities.

Mougins School is a proud member of Globeducate, one of the world’s leading international education groups, which educates over 40,000 students in 11 countries across more than +65 premium bilingual and international schools.

Fees

School fees at Mougins School range from approximately €15,960 to €25,600 annually, depending on the age group. Payment can usually be made in termly installments. For a full breakdown of tuition and optional services, please consult the school’s latest tuition fee schedule.

Admissions

The school offers rolling admissions, allowing families to apply and enrol students at any point during the year — ideal for families relocating to the French Riviera. As Head of School Paul Michael explains: “We focus on whether a student is ready and prepared to join our community, rather than on strict academic criteria. We’re proud to be an inclusive school, offering flexibility for families and helping children feel at home from day one.”

Prospective parents are encouraged to contact the school to arrange an in-person or virtual tour or to attend one of Mougins School’s five annual open days. Following their visit, students may also be invited to experience a trial day at the school.

The admissions team is available to answer any questions and guide families through the process. Full details can be found on the How to Apply page of their website.

Location

The campus is located within the Sophia-Antipolis technology park, surrounded by nature, just a short drive from Cannes, Antibes, and Nice. The peaceful, landscaped grounds offer state-of-the-art facilities, including science labs, a theatre, sports courts, outdoor classrooms, and shaded gardens.

To support families across the region, Mougins School also operates two dedicated bus routes: one serving Roquefort-les-Pins/Valbonne, and another connecting Monaco to the campus.
