Mr. Barnaby’s Baby Babble is a vibrant international community for English-speaking families with young children in Berlin. They get together to learn and have fun, share knowledge and experiences of parenthood and find support and friendship. Mums and dads with children under the age of five comprise most of the members, including many new & expectant parents. Founded in June 2009, today it has grown into a community of more than 800 families from around the world with English as the common spoken language. Joining Baby Babble transformed my experience of being an English speaking mum of two little boys in a strange city. It certainly helped ward off feelings of isolation, alienation and boredom. It got me moving and getting to know the city and has been great fun. Baby Babble has also been a great source of information and support.
Finally there is a professionally-run group, run by a gorgeous gal, that attracts a like-minded bunch of English speaking mothers, who are all experiencing what life in a new city with small children is like. It isn’t easy, and having the opportunity to meet people if and when you need to makes a lot of difference.
