Maternity Services in Milan

There are many excellent maternity services in Milan, with highly regarded facilities in the city and English-speaking doctors, gynaecologists and midwives. There are family doctors and general health practitioners based in each of the city’s neighbourhoods, with regular maternity clinics for mums-to-be at each stage of pregnancy and beyond into parenthood.

Support for mums

Midwives, doulas and maternity nurses can also assist new mums at home while adjusting to having a tiny baby, offering support with breastfeeding, a sleeping routine and advising on the (at times confusing) Italian healthcare system. There are several wonderful non-profit organisations especially dedicated to expat maternity services in Milan, providing pre and postnatal support to ensure the most positive birth experience possible.

Milan is home to some fantastic maternity centres offering services dedicated to pregnancy and childbirth, hosting a wide variety of fantastic workshops and pre and postnatal courses for pregnant expat mums. These centres have welcoming spaces for nursing mothers and access to alternative therapists such as yoga teachers offering specialised yoga for pregnancy and hypnobirthing practitioners, ensure a relaxed, healthy mum and happy baby.

The city is also home to a variety of colourful independent boutiques stocking maternity clothes and everything parents to be might need for their new baby and growing family.
