Healthcare Tuscany

The Italian healthcare system (the Servizio Sanitario Nazionale or SSN) is considered to be excellent, with efficient and high-quality care available to all Italian residents.

There are large general and university hospitals in Florence and Siena and a children’s hospital located in the Florentine hills, with a world class paediatric department serving the city and surrounding areas. One of the best maternity hospitals in the region is located in Arezzo.

There are numerous dedicated maternity and family clinics in the region, ensuring a qualified paediatrician nearby, with many additional healthcare services available to new mums and families in Florence and Perugia and throughout Tuscany and Umbria.
