Activities for Kids Madrid

The Spanish capital has seemingly endless outdoor activity ideas for kids, with something for every age and interest. The beautiful city centre is perfect for strolling and cycling year-round. For a more structured walk through the Spanish capital, there are several fantastic walking tour companies offering walking tours by English-speaking guides and local experts.

 

The world-famous Retiro Park has lots of open green spaces and adventure playgrounds for little ones to let off steam, and enjoy free outdoor activities for kids. There are an abundance of city parks and green spaces throughout the capital for easy outdoor activities for kids, including the popular municipal park and pretty botanic gardens. Landlocked Madrid is home to one of the biggest swimming pool and leisure centres in Europe, ideal for cooling off in the height of summer. Madrid is also home to a beautiful zoo and there are several vast nature parks a short drive out of the city centre, including an authentic African Safari park that kids will absolutely love.

 

The city also has an abundance of fascinating museums, galleries and exhibits suitable for children of all ages. From science and technology to natural history and world-famous art galleries, there is something to suit every interest. The majority of museums in the city host special workshops, guided tours and other indoor activities for young children around a particular theme.

 

There are numerous soft play centres providing indoor fun for toddlers and older children alike, with slides, ball pools and plenty of fun indoor activities to do with kids. There are a variety of different creative workshops and holiday courses in Madrid, including several language schools offering great indoor activities for kids in English, as well as English performing arts classes.
