Many families enjoy boat trips and picnics along the picturesque stretch of coast, with shallow sections ideal for little ones to paddle and many different water sports to suit older children.

Inland, the region has plenty of outdoor nature activities for kids, with historical villages to explore and miles of walking trails to suit children at all different stages. The region is also renowned for its picturesque vineyards and the fascinating history of Girona itself, with ancient ruins that older kids will love. The breathtaking mountainous landscape a short drive away is perfect for fantastic family days out skiing and sledging. There are many outdoor activities for tweens and teens, including a plethora of cycling and walking routes along the beautiful Via Verde (a converted disused railway track). From horse-riding through beautiful pine tree forests, to popular off-road Segway tours, there is truly an abundance of summer outdoor activities for families living in Costa Brava.
