The region is also renowned for its picturesque vineyards and the fascinating history of Girona itself, with ancient ruins that older kids will love. The breathtaking mountainous landscape a short drive away is perfect for fantastic family days out skiing and sledging. There are many outdoor activities for tweens and teens, including a plethora of cycling and walking routes along the beautiful Via Verde (a converted disused railway track). From horse-riding through beautiful pine tree forests, to popular off-road Segway tours, there is truly an abundance of summer outdoor activities for families living in Costa Brava.
