There are so many fantastic things to do with kids in Valencia. Valencia has some of the most beautiful outdoor spaces of any Spanish city and is an astonishingly green city with endless fun outdoor activities for kids. The beautiful Turia Gardens run through the heart of the city for 9km along the bed of the original Turia River. One of Spain’s largest city parks, the wide, flat stretch is an urban oasis and is immensely popular with families strolling, cycling and making the most of the many different sports and leisure areas and activities. The city also boasts breathtaking urban beaches with countless perfect picnic spots, summer outdoor activities for kids and a long, flat promenade also popular for cycling as a family.

The city’s world famous Bioparc Zoo is considered one of the best in the world, with no visible barriers around the animals, who live relatively freely in specially designed natural spaces. The Albufera National Park is home to Spain’s largest lake, and amazing wetlands that are home to a diverse array of flora and fauna. The park makes an amazing day out for all the family, with outdoor nature activities for kids and many things to see and do.

There are plenty of great indoor things to do with kids in Valencia too, with something to suit every family and interest. Valencia is home to many innovative and fascinating museums suitable for children of all ages. Valencia’s most iconic architecture is perhaps the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences, home to excellent science and oceanographic museums, with a variety of fantastic events and activities for kids to do inside at weekends and during school holidays.

Creative activities to do with kids indoors include the city’s Institute for Modern Art, with colourful contemporary works by the likes of Joan Miró. There is even a quirky museum dedicated to El Ratoncito Pérez (a friendly mouse and Spain’s answer to the tooth fairy), and what happens to children’s baby teeth once they are collected!

There is a vast activity and leisure centre in Bonaire with great indoor activities for kids of all ages, including rock climbing and soft play centres. The city is also home to the biggest trampoline park in Spain, with over 2500m2 of fantastic play areas; a great place for kids to let off steam on a rare rainy day in Valencia and they also host fun children’s birthday parties. Older kids will enjoy competitive bowling, escape rooms and cinemas showing films in original version with Spanish subtitles.
