Activities for Kids Paris

Paris’ picturesque squares, green urban parks and historic manicured gardens are ideal for little ones to let off steam and provide endless free outdoor activities for kids. Previously an additional driving lane, the banks of the Seine have recently been pedestrianised, making for a beautiful pathway to stroll along the riverbanks, taking in the French capital’s world famous monuments and unique architecture from a different perspective.

Other fun outdoor activities for kids include the popular river cruises on typical “bateaux mouches” which run year-round, ideal for enjoying a sunny day on deck. In the summer, many spots along the river are transformed into sandy urban beaches with deck chairs and pop-up street food stalls that kids will love. There are several great family-friendly walking and cycling tours of Paris, ideal for older kids to learn about the city of light’s fascinating history and hidden corners in a fun interactive way.

The French capital is home to countless family-friendly indoor attractions, including a plethora of world-class museums, indoor play centres and a popular aquarium complete with live mermaid shows and plenty of sharks. Paris has so many educational indoor activities for children and young people, from iconic art galleries to interactive  exhibits and creative workshops focusing on France’s incredible culture and history.

Children of all ages will also love visiting the city’s many iconic sites, from the Eiffel Tower, to the ancient Notre Dame cathedral. Many of the river boats, (or bateaux mouches) offering trips up and down the Seine have glass roofs for staying cosy and dry in the winter months without missing out on panoramic views of the city from the river.

There are also various different sports clubs in Paris with indoor facilities and plenty of family-friendly courses and workshops after school, at weekends and throughout the school holidays.
