Set in the heart of Lyon’s old town, The Musée Cinéma et Miniature is the only museum of its kind in Europe. Founded by miniaturist Dan Ohlmann, the museum combines the art of creating miniatures with the tricks and secrets of special effects in film. Some of the exhibits on display from their special effects collection include the actual robots from the films Alien and iRobot and real outfits from the likes of Batman,Troy and Gladiator. Learn all about the illusions and techniques employed by some of the most talented film makers around the world. The museum’s collection of miniature scenes includes works by Ohlmann alongside the work of 30 miniaturists from around the world. There are over 120 lifelike reproductions of movie sets and real-life scenes with an impressive attention to detail. They offer a wonderful, educational tour that is also available in in English, Spanish and German.
