This French counterpart of waxworks museum Madame Tussauds, the Musée Grevin is hugely popular with kids and tweens, who love having their picture taken with lifelike depictions of famous celebrities and historical figures.
The museum is divided into carefully thought-out categories like Hollywood stars, sports figures and historical moments from the 20th century (including a snapshot of the moon landing scene with Neil Armstrong). Participate in a Cannes Film Festival awards ceremony with well known actors, or strike a pose onstage with music icons. Cartoon and comic book characters will appeal to little ones, while a who’s who of celebrities will have even the grown-ups acting like paparazzi shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Barack Obama and Queen Elizabeth II.
There is also an impressive hall of mirrors and a section devoted to how waxworks are created. On set days during term time there are dedicated children’s tours (in French) for 7-12 year olds.
