Museo Nazionale del Cinema

December 28, 2017 | Activities, Italy, Turin

The cinema museum is one of the most important of its kind not only in Italy but also in the world, located in the Mole Antonelliana. The museum itself is fascinating and unique, displaying a huge collection related to the history and world of cinema. There are a large number of different educational and scientific activities which can be explored and visitors are able to participate in the experience rather than solely observe. The museum is set up in a way that visitors are led through the history of cinema, set over many floors, from early inventions to modern day discoveries and technology. There is also a cafe and museum shop. At an extra cost the panoramic glass elevator can be taken to the first balcony of the Mole in 59 seconds, giving visitors extraordinary 360° views of Turin and its surrounds. Guided tours in English can be organised in advance for groups of up to 25 people.

What a place! It’s definitely original and the whole experience is very involving and interactive. The glass elevator is an attraction in itself and worth the wait but get there early to avoid the queues at peak times. Very family friendly and you could easily spend a few hours here.
