Cognitive Behavioural Therapist
Natalie Marby is a CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) Therapist based in Hamburg. Natalie is a licensed and experienced English speaking therapist, offering psychotherapy and counselling for foreigners living in Hamburg. She specialises in treating typical expatriate mental health issues, such as culture shock (loneliness, homesickness), life transitions and change, feeling disconnected from yourself, confusion, disorientation and frustration, foreign language anxiety (fear of speaking German) as well as anxiety/phobia, depression, addiction, relationship problems, communication issues, burnout and work related stress, eating disorders, PTSD, body image disturbances, anger management, OCD (obsessive compulsive disorders) and many other mental health issues.
Her approach is positive and goal oriented. CBT is a short-term, highly effective psychotherapy that produces clear, measurable changes. CBT is based on the idea that our (conscious and unconscious) thoughts create our feelings and our feelings then create a certain behaviour. In order to change a behaviour, it may help to question your thoughts and especially the way you interpret situations. CBT can help you to identify unhelpful interpretations about others, the world and yourself through a process of evaluation, which will then help you to change any dysfunctional behaviour.
What we like about them
In their own words
Mental health issues often mean that you are re-creating a thought pattern learned in the past. With my work I want people to understand the connection between their thoughts and their emotions and how they can make the present more powerful than the past.” Natalie
