Nem, Sitges

August 29, 2017 | Catalonia, Sitges, Spain

Nem is an unpretentious, upmarket tapas bar. Relaxed, friendly and affordable restaurant where customers can eat seasonal fresh food and the menu changes every month. Joint owners Lee Coulson and Gonzalo Aguirre have been cooking for 20 years combined, and after meeting at a restaurant in Barcelona, realized they both had the same attitude and ideas towards food. Together, they have combined their experience of cooking different styles of food with a large range of ingredients to produce the food that you see at Nem. The name ‘Nem’ is a play on words – a ‘nem’ is a Vietnamese spring roll, but ‘nem’ in Catalan means ‘to come’ and be welcomed.

They offer a taster menu as well which takes the hassle out of ordering with large groups, and is good value for money. (Leigh)
